Kyle Chandler to hunt Bin Laden

Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) is the latest actor to join Kathryn Bigelow‘s dramatisation of the hunt for Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.

According to Deadline, Chandler will play a CIA agent in the untitled picture.

The project was originally called Kill Bin Laden, but that was before Navy SEAL Team 6 actually killed Bin Laden. Mark Boal’s script focused on the fruitless search for the terrorist mastermind, but has since been re-written to accommodate the happier ending.

Jason Clarke, Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong and Edgar Ramirez are also set for the pic. Deadline still list Joel Edgerton as part of the cast, though there were rumours last year that he had dropped out.

The film is set for a December 19, 2012 release.
