Kick-Ass 2 shooting this year?

That headline should be taken with not just a grain of salt, but perhaps an entire refinery.

Comic author Mark Millar told Scotland’s Daily Record a sequel to Kick-Ass would begin shooting in the American summer. This would indeed be impressive, considering there are no stars attached, no screenplay, no director, and no formal announcement from studio Lionsgate. Also, original director Matthew Vaughn is busy working on a sequel to X-Men: First Class.

Miller is responsible for writing Kick-Ass, so you would imagine he is at least somewhat involved in the creative process of putting together a second film.

However, the man has a reputation for being a pathological exaggerator. Temper your excitement.
