Mark Wahlberg wants in on Headhunters remake

Mark Wahlberg is keen to star in the English language adaptation of Jo Nesbø’s crime novel Headhunters.

Wahlberg told Shortlist he was a big fan of the recent Norwegian version, going so far to call it “one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time”

“I met with the director [Sacha Gervasi] and pleaded with the studio that has the rights so we’ll see if we get anywhere with that.”

Headhunters tells of an art thief whose most recent conquest has ramifications of outrageous proportions. Morten Tyldum‘s original Norwegian film is now playing the Perth International Arts Festival, and hits the rest of the country on March 8, 2012. Check out our review here.

Discuss: Can you see Wahlberg as Headhunters protagonist Roger Brown?
