Tom Cruise in talks for A Star is Born

Tom Cruise might play an ageing superstar opposite Beyoncé Knowles‘ up-and-comer in Clint Eastwood‘s remake (of a remake of a remake) of A Star is Born.

According to Deadline, Cruise is in talks with Eastwood and Warner Bros about taking on the part.

Will Smith, Christian Bale, Eminem, Russell Crowe, and even Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z have all been rumoured at one time or another to be in consideration for the role.

Beyoncé‘s pregnancy delayed the project by a number of months, but she will reportedly be ready to step back in front of the camera by June.

Cruise recently completed work on the musical Rock of Ages, where he had to perform a number of 80s hits. Might he now have the singing bug?
