Garbage Pail Kids – the movie!

A film based on the Garbage Pail Kids trading card line is now in the works, because, well, why not? There’s a Battleship movie now too, don’t you know?

According to Deadline, former Disney CEO Michael Eisner is producing the project.

The Garbage Pail Kids satirised the Cabbage Patch Kids, and became widely popular following their release in 1985. Created by Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Art Spiegelman (Maus), they were comprised of some truly bizarre characters.

Michael Vukadinovich will write the script, while PES (that’s his name, like McG) will direct.

Discuss: Did you collect these as a kid?

  1. I’m not imagining it!!! Thank god! No one ever knows what I’m talking about when I mention the Garbage Pail Kids, How they couldn’t remember them I have no idea!! LOL!

  2. Because one movie based upon a satirical card collection clearly wasn’t enough. No for maximum pain, there needs to be 2 movies based entirely on a satirical card collection
