The teaser trailer for Andrew Niccol‘s adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s The Host has arrived online.
Though Meyer is best known for her blockbuster Twilight series, her novel The Host was similarly a hit upon release in 2008.
The pic stars Saoirse Ronan as Melanie Stryder, a young woman who is rebelling against an alien invasion on Earth.
Check out the teaser, which is short on footage but full of striking blue eyes, below.
The Host also stars Max Irons (Red Riding Hood) as the boyfriend of Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan), and Jake Abel (Tru Loved) as Ian, a young man who falls for the alien Wanderer that eventually possesses Melanie’s body.
It arrives in cinemas March 2013.

No no no. The studio must be showing more in subsequent trailers. I really liked the book. Saorise is a very good choice for Melanie. If they get the marketing right, particularly the content of trailers this movie will do well. I think the Twilight reference may put a lot of people off but I understand why they did it.
