Clerks: The Animated Series returning in 2013

Kevin Smith has revealed on his Twitter account plans to resurrect the long-defunct Clerks animated series in 2013.

The series, based on his breakout 1994 independent film of the same name, ran briefly in 2000. And we mean briefly. Only two of the six episodes were ever aired, though the DVD release became popular in Smith’s fan circles.

Fans may not have to wait too much longer to see animated Dante and Randal back in action at the Quick Stop.

Smith’s Tweet reads:

“@Miramax 2.0 and I are hoping to give you new eps weekly next year.”

“Miramax 2.0” refers to the fact that Miramax was formerly owned by Disney, who held the rights to the property until the studio was sold off in 2011.

More news as it develops!

  1. Clerks was very much a thing of the 90s, people aren’t very much like that anymore so I don’t see it holding up now days.
