Michael K. Williams cast as Ol’ Dirty Bastard

MKW will play ODB in an upcoming BIOpic, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Michael K. Williams, best known as the iconic Omar Little on The Wire and more recently as Chalky White on Boardwalk Empire, is set to star as the late Wu-Tang Clan rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

It will mark cinematographer Joaquin Baca-Asay’s directorial debut.

The picture will focus on ODB’s (aka Russell Jones’) supreme talent with a microphone, as well as his struggles with drug addiction and criminal history. Ol’ Dirty died of an accidental overdose in 2004, aged 35.
