Chloe Moretz, Jodie Foster, and Julianne Moore in consideration for Carrie remake

MGM is aiming high with their Carrie remake, appealing to some of the most in-demand young actresses for the role of the titular telekinetic teenager.

According to Vulture, atop director Kimberly Peirce‘s wishlist is Chloë Grace Moretz (Hugo) and Haley Bennett (The Hole). Dakota Fanning, Lily Collins, and Aussies Emily Browning and Bella Heathcote are also in contention for the role made famous by Sissy Spacek.

The Descendants‘ Shailene Woodley was offered the role first, but passed.

Jodie Foster and Julianne Moore have both been approached by Peirce to star as Carrie’s crazy, religious (and crazy-religious!) mother. Piper Laurie played her in Brian DePalma‘s 1976 original.

Discuss: Who would you like to see take on these parts?
