Caitlin Stasey questions her involvement in Tomorrow When the War Began sequel

Caitlin Stasey reveals to IF her involvement in a Tomorrow When the War Began sequel is questionable.

The film was a smash hit in 2010, becoming the highest grossing Australian film of the year with $13.48 million at the box office. Talk of a sequel swirled and plans to begin production in September 2011 were pencilled in, until director Stuart Beattie signed on to write and direct a graphic novel adaptation of I, Frankenstein.

Stasey says, “You always hear things, you always hear that someone’s writing it, that someone’s putting it together. Nothing has happened until it happens. Unfortunately for the Tomorrow series, I feel that for the actors that were in the first film, maybe our commitment to it is done.”

While the screenplay is still being reworked the young cast of the first film have moved and Stasey fears ,“By the time we all get together, we’ll probably be 35 and too old to play the characters.”

Discuss: Would you like to see a Tomorrow sequel with a different cast?
