Will Ferrell confirms Anchorman sequel is really, officially, finally happening

Will Ferrell took to Conan today – in character – to announce a sequel to his 2004 comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

Deadline scooped the news earlier, reporting that Paramount would distribute the film. Judd Apatow will produce, and Adam McKay will direct, as with the first instalment.

Ferrell and McKay have made no secret of their desire to shoot a follow-up to their 70s set hit. Seems like all the parties involved were able to convince Paramount that the project would be a viable money-earner (well, yeah).

The cast have previously suggested Anchorman 2 would take place on the moon. We look forward to that hopefully coming true.

Discuss: Excited? What kind of question is that. Of course you are!
