What an achievement! Adam Sandler‘s twisted-sister comedy Jack and Jill swept every category at the 2012 Golden Raspberry Awards.
Sandler had already broken a Razzie record by collecting 11 individual nominations; the most for any one person.
But at the April 1st Golden Raspberry ceremony, he outdid even that prestigious accomplishment.
His Jack and Jill took home every prize available; the first movie to do so in the event’s 32-year history.
Worst Picture: Jack and Jill
Worst Director: Dennis Dugan
Worst Actor: Adam Sandler
Worst Actress: Adam Sandler
Worst Screen Ensemble: The entire cast of Jack and Jill
Worst Screen Couple: Adam Sandler and either Katie Holmes, Al Pacino or Adam Sandler, Jack and Jill
Worst Supporting Actor: Al Pacino
Worst Supporting Actress: David Spade
Worst Screenplay: Jack and Jill
Worst Prequel, Sequel, Remake or Ripoff: Jack and Jill
Not that I wish to argue with the prestigious Razzie committe but how did this film win Worst Prequel, Sequel, Remake or Ripoff? What is it a ripoff of? Or did they mean it was a ripoff to pay money to see this?
According to the Razzies website, it’s a “Remake” of Ed Wood’s Glen or Glenda. http://www.razzies.com/history/2011-worst-remake-winner.asp
This is a very long bow.
Thanks for clearing that one up. Seems appropriate that the Razzies would take such notice of Ed Wood’s work. Ed must be the patron saint of the group.
