Mr. Toad will ride again

Disney is keen to make a feature film out of their legendary theme park attraction Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Deadline reports.

Based on Kenneth Grahame’s beloved novel The Wind in the Willows, the ride takes participants through Toad Hall, into an oncoming train, and eventually to hell. It’s a bit dark.

It has been a mainstay at Disneyland since 1955, though its Walt Disney World iteration in Florida was closed down in 1998.

Pete Candleland, the director of numerous Gorillaz music videos, is developing the feature as a live-action/CGI hybrid.

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride would not be the studio’s first flick based on a tourist attraction: they’ve got Magic Kingdom in the works, and maybe you’ve also heard of these Pirates of the Caribbean things…

Discuss: Anyone been on the ride?

  1. I’ve been on this ride, which was in turn, based on an early Disney film, as most of the rides are in this part of Disneyland. Tales of Icabod and Mr Crane I think is the film and well worth watching.
