Vince Vaughn will take on the role made famous by James Garner in a big screen adaptation of the TV show The Rockford Files.
According to Deadline, David Levien and Brian Koppelman have been tasked by Universal Pictures to pen the feature as a vehicle for Vaughn (who will also produce).
The show ran from 1974-1980, and concerned fast-talking private-eye/ex-con Jim Rockford. NBC was considering rebooting the show, with Dermot Mulroney in the lead, but pulled the plug last year.
No, Dermot Mulroney is better.
