The Wolverine to shoot in Sydney

After months – years? – of false stars, The Wolverine is that little bit closer to becoming a reality.

IF.com reports the James Mangold directed pic will film in Sydney, despite it being set in Japan.

Production in Asia was halted following the devastating earthquake and tsunami in the region last year.

The decision to move to Sydney was no doubt solidified by the promised $12.8 million incentive offered by the Federal and NSW Governments.

The shoot will reportedly bring $80 million to the state, and create more than 2000 jobs.

The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman, is set to hit cinemas July 2013, though we’ll believe it when we see it.

Discuss: Is this the end of the drama?

  1. About firking time. Better make it before Hugh becomes like Bruce Willis steven Segal & Arnie, all flab and 3G action. No realism.
