From one ingénue to another. Rooney Mara has replaced Carey Mulligan in the new film from writer-director Spike Jonze, Variety reports.
Though details are scarce, the picture concerns a man who falls in love … with a disembodied voice on a computer.
Joaquin Phoenix will likely star as the central man, indicating that his self-imposed exile from the movie business is over (he’s also starring in Paul Thomas Anderson‘s The Master).
Amy Adams and Samantha Morton are also attached.
It is worth noting that this is not the picture scripted by Charlie Kaufman about “world leaders uniting to discuss cataclysmic events,” which Jonze is also working on.
