Rooney Mara loves following in Carey Mulligan’s footsteps! The Oscar-nominated young actress is attached to star in a new movie scripted by author Nick Hornby.
Hornby, who wrote the novels High Fidelity and About a Boy, made his film debut with an Academy Award nominated adaptation of Lynn Barber’s memoir An Education (which starred Mulligan).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hornby is now working on bringing Colm Toibin’s novel Brookyln to the screen.
Mara would star in the 1950s set pic as a young woman torn between “her family in Ireland and the American who wins her heart.”
Discuss: Sound like something that could earn Mara another Oscar nom?
