Elijah Wood set for ‘Speed at a piano’

Elijah Wood has signed on to star in the indie thriller Grand Piano, which is being described by The Hollywood Reporter as “Speed at a piano.”

Pitching a film as a variation on Jan de Bont’s high concept bomb-on-a-bus thriller is no new thing, though the involvement of a piano here certainly has us intrigued.

Wood would play a concert pianist set to make his triumphant return to performance after a five-year absence. However, a threatening note left on his music sheet might mean he has to play… for his life.

Buried helmer Rodrigo Cortes will produce alongside Adrian Guerra. The script comes from Damien Chazelle, and the film will be directed by Eugenio Mira.

Discuss: So, Speed… at a piano. Sold?
