Trailer Debut: The Expendables 2

A trailer for The Expendables 2 premiered online recently and the internet immediately became 63% more masculine.

Explosions, big trucks, cargo planes, explosions, guns, knives, explosions and roundhouse kicks abound in this predictably loud and hectic trailer for the upcoming man-fest.

Simon West (Con Air) takes over directorial duties from Stallone for this sequel, so hopes are high that we may get some coherent action scenes. Welcome new additions to the old-men shooting stuff club are Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme (as a villain named Jean Vilain, I kid you not) while it seems Schwarzenegger and Willis are in more than one scene this time around.

While the trailer seems like borderline parody (Arnie growling, “I’m back!” for example), one can’t deny the appeal of the cast. If you grew up watching any of these guys do their thing in the 80s then you are probably about to get real excited.

The Expendables 2 will man up your cinema screens on August 30, 2012.
