Hayley Atwell to star in 10 Things I Hate About You spinoff

Here’s a weird one. 10 Things I Hate About You director Gil Junger is set to helm a spinoff entitled 10 Things I Hate About Life, with Hayley Atwell (Captain America) attached to star. 

Junger penned the semi-sequel, which “advances the situations” from the original 1999 pic. But there’s a dark, suicidal twist.

“Two people who go to the same place at the same time to end it. … Their chance meeting is so awkward, so raw, and so funny, they postpone their intentions and go their separate ways.”

According to Variety, he was inspired to work on a sequel by the enduring success of Hate About You, claiming that he earned more in 2011 from residuals than he did from his original paycheck.
