Warner Bros recently revealed six new character posters for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises as the long promotional road to the July release date rolls on.
The posters come courtesy of Slashfilm.
I must say that all the promotional material coming out for this film are doing their very best to mute my enthusiasm for the long awaited final piece of Nolan’s sensational take on the Batman legacy.
Just a few days prior to this release we were given the first general poster for the film and it was like looking through some weird time vortex at the same design they used a few years ago.
These character-centred entries are certainly much better – especially the first, rain-drenched trio – but it’s all so grey and dour. Seems heroes and villains have no need for umbrellas. I’m madly looking forward to the film but these posters just come across as lifeless and uninspired.
The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. It arrives in Australian cinemas July 19, 2012.
