Jon Favreau will be reprising his role as Happy Hogan in the upcoming Iron Man 3, according to sources at The Hollywood Reporter.
After directing the first two Iron Man films, Favreau stepped down to concentrate on other projects. Shane Black was handed the reins in an especially genius decision by Marvel Studios. Black defined 80s buddy action films by penning such classics as Lethal Weapon 1 & 2, The Last Boy Scout and The Long Kiss Goodnight, before restarting Robert Downey Jr.‘s career in his directorial debut Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
It’s not known how large Favreau’s part in Iron Man 3 will be, but let’s hope he isn’t on set too much to interfere with Black (considering his last Iron Man film wasn’t anything to be proud of).
