Robert Pattinson denies casting in Hunger Games sequel

Last week the internet, as well as the hearts of all women and most men, were aflutter with rumours that two beloved YA universes were colliding: Robert Pattinson had scored a role in The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire.

Not so, says Pattinson. The Twilight star told USA Today from Cannes – where his new film Cosmopolis debuted – that even he briefly believed the chatter once seeing reports online.

“I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games… I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent. [He] was like, ‘No… No one’s going to offer you that part.”

The part in question was of Finnick Odair, a former victor of the eponymous games.

Francis Lawrence takes over the directorial reins from Gary Ross on Catching Fire. It hits cinemas November 22, 2013.
