Oscar nominee Kristen Wiig recently abandoned her posting at Saturday Night Live with a big career in film ahead of her. The question now is: who will be the next big breakout star of SNL?
A case could be made for Taran Killam, who has just signed on to Steve McQueen‘s new film Twelve Years A Slave, Deadline reports. But unlike Wiig’s Bridesmaids, this is no raunchy comedy.
Twelve Years A Slave marks McQueen’s follow-up to Hunger and Shame, and sees him reunite once again with Michael Fassbender.
Killam will appear as a traveling showman who abducts a black man (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and sells him into slavery.
Brad Pitt and Paul Dano also star.
It is unknown if Killam will use his supreme dancing skills here.
