First look at Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring

The first pics from Sofia Coppola‘s upcoming film The Bling Ring have debuted online, featuring Emma Watson looking vastly different from her days as Hermione Granger.

Watson stars as the leader of a young gang of teens who burglarized the rich and famous in Los Angeles between 2008 and 2009. Some of their victims included Paris Hilton (multiple times), Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox, Orlando Bloom, and Miranda Kerr. The group managed to lift approximately $3 million worth of, well, bling.

The images come courtesy of EW and Slashfilm, and feature newcomers Israel Broussard, Taissa Farmiga, Katie Chang, Claire Pfister, and Georgia Rock.

Ironically, the detective working on the real-life thefts may have endangered the case by working as an advisor on Coppola’s film. Here’s hoping the final product is worth it!

The Bling Ring does not yet have an Australian release date.
