A new trailer for Timur Bekmambetov’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has been released by 20th Century Fox and includes some previously unseen scenes.
Based on the book of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith – who also wrote the screenplay for Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows – the trailer opens with a voice over: “History prefers legends to men.” It shows Washington DC mid-building of the Washington Memorial, as the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin Walker), reveals he’s more than a father and a leader; he’s also a vampire hunter.
The second trailer tones down the violence previously seen and focuses more on the atmosphere of the time, yet it still remains fun. One is reminded when Burton’s name appears on screen as producer, that his aesthetic has been replicated here.
Abraham Lincoln – Vampire Hunter arrives in cinemas August 9, 2012 and also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Dominic Cooper and Anthony Mackie.
