The feature trailer for the Bourne movie without Bourne – The Bourne Legacy – has arrived online.
Reminding us that “there was never just one,” the teaser offers us a better, unobstructed glimpse of genetically-modified assassin Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner), who must go on the run when the shady Treadstone agency decides to cleanse their ranks.
Though original franchise helmer Paul Greengrass is absent, screenwriter of the first three films and Academy Award nominated director Tony Gilroy seems to have an adequate handle on the frenetic action sequences and car chases.
The Bourne Legacy also stars Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, and Oscar Isaac. Former Treadstone heads Joan Allen, Albert Finney, and David Strathairn return. It arrives in Australian cinemas August 16, 2012.
