Perhaps there are no better foils for the tightly-wound Jesse Eisenberg than crazy-speech-giving Melissa Leo and the notorious Tracy Morgan. Thankfully, that is precisely the trio sharing screen time in new comedy Why Stop Now.
The Philip Dorling and Ron Nyswaner directed flick debuted at Sundance, where it was subsequently picked up by IFC Films.
Eisenberg stars as a piano prodigy with an addict mother (Leo). On the morning of his big audition for a music program, he tries to drop her off at rehab. Of course, complications arise, and he’s stuck with her for the day, ultimately agreeing to score drugs from her dealer (Morgan). Hijinks ensue.
Why Stop Now hits American cinemas August 17, 2012, with an Australian release to follow.
