Anthony Mackie in talks for Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Anthony Mackie is in negotiations to star as Falcon in the upcoming Captain America sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

After coming to everyone’s attention with his role in The Hurt Locker, Mackie has several high profile films on his slate including Michael Bay‘s upcoming low-budget black comedy Pain & Gain. By the time Captain America: The Winter Soldier is released in 2014, we are sure you’ll be very familiar with this burgeoning star.

He is set to take the role of Falcon, a well-loved character from the comic books, best known as one of mainstream comics’ first black superheroes.

  1. Falcon? Cool! I look forward to how they do this. Will he fly with artificial wings, as in the comics?

  2. When my book gets optioned for a movie (yeah, I have big dreams), I want Anthony Mackie to play one of the leads, as a 1930’s blues musician.
