Kristen Stewart might be dumped from Snow White sequel

The sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman might be short one Snow White.

The Hollywood Reporter suggests plans for Universal’s sequel to the fairy-tale flick are being rejigged following the revelation that star Kristen Stewart had an affair with director Rupert Sanders.

The focus of the follow-up will instead be turned to Chris Hemsworth‘s Huntsman. THR suggests Stewart won’t be featured in the film at all, though Universal insists she “could” return.

Writer David Koepp recently exited the project, and no replacement has been named. Sanders remains on a short-list to direct, though his future involvement with the series seems unlikely. We discussed the prospect of a sequel with him at the time of the movie’s release, but that now seems like a much quainter time.

Stewart dropped out of Nick Cassavetes‘ upcoming comedy Cali following her public apology for the sex scandal.

Discuss: Could the franchise work without her?
