Jim Carrey wanted for Kick-Ass 2

With production on Kick-Ass 2 officially under way (we can’t believe it either!), Universal Pictures are eager to recruit mega-fan Jim Carrey.

According to Deadline, Universal want Carrey to play The Colonel in the DIY superhero flick. The character brings together a group of crime-fighters, Nick Fury style, to take down evil forces. Considering he comes from the mind of comic writer Mark Millar, we expect him to be wildly demented in some manner.

The previous instalment’s helmer, Matthew Vaughn, has penned the script, but directorial duties have been handed over to Jeff Wadlow.

Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Nicolas Cage are all returning.
