It’s been almost a year since Eddie Murphy suggested Beverly Hills Cop should become a weekly TV series. Well, we’re a little bit closer to seeing that happen!
According to Vulture, Eddie Murphy, The Shield creator Shawn Ryan, and Sony Pictures Television are shopping the project to broadcast networks.
Murphy would appear in the series as well as executive-produce, though it’s unknown if he will reprise the role of Axel Foley, or, if Axel will even be the lead character.
When Murphy discussed the prospect with Rolling Stone back in 2011, he said the show would focus on Axel’s son, with Foley Sr. now chief of police in Detroit.
