Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D pilot going ahead with Joss Whedon

Marvel TV and ABC Studios are collaborating on the pilot for S.H.I.E.L.D, a TV spin-off from the hugely successful flick The Avengers.

According to DeadlineAvengers director Joss Whedon will write the script alongside his brother Jed and Jed’s wife Maurissa Tancharoen. The trio previously collaborated on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.

It is also suggested by Deadline’s report that Whedon might also helm the first episode, depending on his schedule. He is working on The Avengers 2 after all.

The series will focus on the Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate presided over by Nick Fury in Marvel’s film series, though it’s unknown if that character will appear in the show.
