Godzilla 3D hits cinemas May 2014

That new Godzilla movie you’ve been feverishly anticipating (right?) has been given an official release date: May 16, 2014.

According to Deadline, it will also be in 3D.

There is still little information available about the pic, though we know it’s being directed by Gareth Edwards (of low-budget Monsters fame), and has been written by David Callaham, David S. Goyer, and Max Borenstien. Also, we presume a giant lizard-like beast will be involved.

Toho Studios, the Japanese studio that oversaw the development of the original features, is keeping a close eye on producers Legendary Pictures.

So, you still have a few years to further forget Roland Emmerich’s Godzilla movie, if a disaster of that magnitude can be forgotten at all.
