Rupert Wyatt delivered one of the best ever Planet of the Apes movies with his 2011 reboot Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and studio 20th Century Fox was rewarded for taking a chance on his talents with a surprise box office hit.
But Deadline now suggests Wyatt may walk away from helming the sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes as he isn’t comfortable with meeting the May 23, 2014 release date set by Fox.
No confirmation yet from Fox or Wyatt. Similar reports of Gary Ross abandoning Catching Fire on account of the too-quick turnaround earlier in the year were revealed to be true.
Discuss: Would you still be keen to see an Apes sequel without Wyatt attached?
