The trailer for Gus Van Sant‘s new drama – and definite Oscar contender – Promised Land has arrived, starring Matt Damon and John Krasinski.
Damon and Krasinski collaborated on the screenplay for this fracking feature, the most high-profile depiction of the controversial subject since Josh Fox‘s Oscar-nominated documentary Gasland.
A corporate salesman (Damon) works at convincing a struggling small-town to allow drilling in their land, but must face off against grass-roots campaigners (Krasinski, Hal Holbrook).
Frances McDormand and Rosemarie DeWitt also star.
Promised Land arrives in US cinemas before the end of the year, and hopefully hits our screens early 2013.
