Angela Lansbury joins Bill Murray for Wes Anderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel

According to reports in UK magazine The Gentle Woman (courtesy of The Film Stage), Angela Lansbury has landed a role in Wes Anderson‘s next symmetry-fest, The Grand Budapest Hotel.

While Ms Murder She Wrote is quoted as saying it is a small role, she is joining what’s turning into a pretty epic cast that includes the recently announced Anderson regular Bill Murray as well as Owen Wilson, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, Adrien Brody, and Willem Dafoe.

No plot details have been revealed at this stage but Anderson has been quoted as saying this film is “not very family friendly” as opposed to his recent work of Moonrise Kingdom and Fantastic Mr Fox. Of course this isn’t a Wes Anderson horror film so it’s not like we are about to see the precious auteur ‘break bad’ and artfully curate a scene where someone gets their head smashed in while jaunty French music plays in the background but any appearance of Jessica Fletcher on the big screen is welcome in my book.

Discuss: Another Wes Anderson film that kinda sounds the same but different to all his other films. Excited?
