Monopoly movie still in the works, and so is a Hungry Hungry Hippos film

Once upon a time, Ridley Scott was attached to make a Monopoly movie, but then he came to his senses and did that Alien prequel instead.

But you can’t keep Hasbro down. Though the game company’s production deal with Universal may have collapsed, they’re still keen to bring Monopoly to the big screen, as well as feature film adaptations of Hungry Hungry Hippos and their British G.I. Joe equivalent, Action Man.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hasbro has signed with the Emmett/Furla banner, who will finance the three movies over the next two years.

Monopoly will likely begin production next year.
