Agent Coulson lives in Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. series

The prayers of many have been answered by Marvel, who will resurrect Clark Gregg’s much-loved Agent Coulson for their upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. television series.

At the New York Comic Con, The Avengers director Joss Whedon and Marvel president Kevin Feige announced that Coulson would indeed come back from the dead.

When we spoke to Gregg a few months ago, he was dubious about any involvement in the series (considering his fate at the end of The Avengers).

“The best I can hope for is that there will be a flashback, or they’ll do my funeral in the first episode.”

According to this interview on Marvel, Gregg had no idea he would be part of the series until he was called to appear at the Con.

Whedon is penning the pilot to Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. with his Dr. Horrible co-writers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen.
