Tom McCarthy takes on controversial tale

Writer-director Tom McCarthy is best known for his sweet dramedies Win Win, The Visitor, and The Station Agent (as well as for co-writing Up), but he’s set to take on much darker subject matter with his newie.

According to Variety, McCarthy has been quietly working on a project regarding the Catholic Church’s cover-up of numerous child molestation cases in Massachusetts.

McCarthy has teamed up with former West Wing writer Josh Singer for the picture.

It is suggested the film will recall Watergate-uncovering drama All The President’s Men.
