Mark Wahlberg really will star in Transformers 4

It was rumoured months ago, but Michael Bay denied it.

Now, Bay and Paramount Pictures have announced Mark Wahlberg will indeed star in Transformers 4.

Wahlberg worked with Bay on his (relatively) small budget black comedy Pain and Gain. It seems the experience was a positive one for the both of them.

“Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on “Pain and Gain” and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy,” Bay said in the official statement.

Say hi to your Autobots for him.

Transformers 4 hits cinemas June 2014, while Pain and Gain is set for a mid-2013 release.
