Disney is working speedily to get this new Star Wars trilogy in cinemas by 2015.
According to Deadline, Oscar winning screenwriter Michael Arndt has penned a treatment for the next three instalments of the Star Wars saga, and is “in line” to work on the full script for Episode 7.
Arndt was recruited by LucasFilm to work on the treatments months before the studio’s sale to Disney was announced.
Having taken home an Academy Award for Little Miss Sunshine and earning another Screenplay nomination for Toy Story 3, this former PA to Matthew Broderick is now one of the most sought after talents in Hollywood.
He is currently writing the scripts for the last two Hunger Games adaptations.
Star Wars Episode 7 is set for a 2015 release date.
