Bryan Singer is back for more X-Men, and he’s bringing Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen with him.
Though the former Professor X and Magneto were replaced by the younger James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender in last year’s prequel First Class, the time-skipping follow-up Days of Future Past will allow both versions of the characters to exist alongside one another on the screen.
Singer announced their casting on Twitter, as well as the return of McAvoy, Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.
Deadline asked how the characters would co-exist, and he responded thusly:
“The movie is called X-Men: Days Of Future Past, use your imagination.”
Indeed we shall, old friend!
