Trailer Debut: Pain & Gain

See Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in all their brawny glory in the trailer for Michael Bay’s black comedy Pain & Gain.

Wahlberg and Johnson star in the flick as ‘roided-up gym junkies who get tangled up in a blackmail scheme.

You may not believe it after watching the trailer, but it’s based on a true story (you can read the article that inspired the movie here).

With a budget of just $22 million, it marks a significant step-down from Bay’s Transformers trilogy.

We’re still dubious as to how he will handle his first full-blown comedy; the laughs in the trailer are infrequent, but Wahlberg and Johnson are proven comic talents.

Still, any movie featuring supporting actors Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, and Tony Shalhoub is worth paying attention to.

Weirdly, Vanity Fair published a piece pointing out the “unintentionally hilarious” moments from the trailer. Er, should you tell them, or I?
