Tina Fey in talks for Muppets 2

Tina Fey is in talks to star opposite Ricky Gervais and a whole bunch of felt in the sequel to The Muppets.

According to THR, the upcoming Golden Globes host is in “late-stage negotiations” to join erstwhile GG MC Gervais, as well as Modern Family’s Ty Burrell.

The sequel to 2011’s hit Henson reinvention will be once again directed by James Bobin and co-written by Nicholas Stoller, though former star and screenwriter Jason Segel will not be involved.

Details are scarce, but it’s understood Muppets 2 will take place in Europe and involve some bumbling Interpol inspectors.

With production on 30 Rock wrapped for good, we can look forward to Fey’s big screen career blowing up very soon.

Muppets 2 begins shooting in London this month.
