The Robopocalypse has been postponed

More like Robopocalypse (Not) Now.

Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg had long been attached to direct the DreamWorks film, based on Daniel H. Wilson’s novel of the same name.

Spielberg’s spokesman Martin Levy tells The Hollywood Reporter that production has been halted, indefinitely.

“[The project is] too important and the script is not ready, and it’s too expensive to produce. It’s back to the drawing board to see what is possible.”

Chris Hemsworth and Anne Hathaway were set to star.

Perhaps Spielberg just didn’t feel like making another action movie. While promoting Lincoln, he told 60 Minutes he could direct actioners “in my sleep at this point in my career.”

Robopocalpyse, you were too beautiful for this world.
