Trailer Debut: Trance

The trailer for Danny Boyle’s latest thriller, Trance, has arrived.

A remake of a 2001 TV movie, it stars James McAvoy as an art thief who can’t recall where he hid the spoils of his last heist. His forgetfulness is caused by a knock on the head, though gangleader Vincent Cassel doesn’t believe the information is gone for good, hiring a hypnotist (Rosario Dawson) to draw it out by any means necessary.

After winning Best Director and Picture for Slumdog Millionaire and following it up with the Best Picture nominated 127 Hours, it’s nice to see Boyle return to his roots with this frenetic crime thriller (though Slumdog and 127 are certainly frenetic in their own way too).

Trance was co-written by Boyle and his Trainspotting/Shallow Grave script-writer John Hodge.

It hits UK cinemas in March, with a local release to hopefully come soon after.
