According to an inside source at Vulture, Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) is planning to make a Star Wars film. According to Zack Snyder’s publicist, he is not.
The internet went bonkers yesterday when word started to travel that Zack Snyder was planning to make a Star Wars film loosely based on the classic Kurosawa epic Seven Samurai. This film was purported to be a self-contained sci-fi film simply set in the Star Wars universe and not related to Disney’s upcoming Episode VII.
Snyder’s representatives immediately denied the story claiming, “Zack is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars,” but Vulture doubled down on their source holding strong and saying they have it on good authority that Snyder recently had a meeting with Lucasfilm to discuss the project.
It wouldn’t be the first time the publicity machine denies a true story for political reasons and I for one would be pretty interested to see Snyder play around in the Star Wars world but we’ll have to take this whole back and forth with a grain of salt.
That other new Star Wars flick hits cinemas in 2015.
