Trailer Debut: The East

How creepy you find the trailer for The East depends on whether or not Ellen Page’s voice sends shivers down your spine.

The new film from director Zal Batmanglij and his co-writer Brit Marling (they previously collaborated on Sound of My Voice) just debuted at Sundance to decent reviews, and seems to concern a particularly violent ‘Occupy’ movement targeting those damned one percenters.

Page delivers a chilly warning to the rich and powerful – presumably via hamburger phone – over the top of this teaser.

Marling also stars, alongside Alexander Skarsgård, Patricia Clarkson, and Toby Kebbell.

It does not yet have a local release date.
