From computer screens to the silver screen, World of Warcraft is getting the Hollywood treatment and director Duncan Jones is officially onboard, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Titled Warcraft, word of an adaptation has been floating around since 2007 and has seen names such as Sam Raimi loosely attached.
The screenplay, written by Charles Leavitt, has been a closely guarded secret throughout development and with Warner Brothers aiming for a 2015 release we still have a decent wait ahead of us to learn which direction the film will take.
Jones first made his mark with Moon back in 2009, and followed with Source Code in 2011, leaving his folio on the slim side and geared entirely towards science fiction.
That said, both films were hits with critics and audiences and it’s exciting to see what Jones will do with an increased budget to work with, a reported minimum of $100 million.
